An early wake up in Santiago de Compostela and we were off to the airport. Madrid was awaiting our presence! We got through the luggage process... not hard, but having hundreds of travelers leave through one regular size door... kinda odd... no customs needed or anything so it didn't make sense. One airport policia saw what was happening, and went through the crowd and open the other 4 doors... ahhhhh, much better.
Got to our hotel... very nice, very modern, very much in the center of the city, a city we, in writing this note, have decided we like very much. There's just a wonderful 'vibe', cleanliness, and unpretentious attitude.
We didn't go walking till later in the afternoon due to the warmth. Walked the streets of which many are pedestrian only... that is always nice. Put a video on Facebook of some folks on a Virtual Reality gizmo at the Samsung store... that included a chair that flipped them all sorts of ways. Jerry and I decided we would throw up on the darn thing!
Posted a bunch of pictures of the hotel... Huge art reproductions on the walls in the halls and doors. You may recognize the style... There's a lovely rooftop gathering place with a pool and hot tub... Temps though right now don't make it very appetizing... 90degrees!
Our room to the left, right it's the two little windows on top!
This door way has a butt on it...
Roof Top Bar and Pool Area View.... very warm up there!
Street Statues... this one was an odd one...
Different sorta architecture!
Great looking hotel & area! Spent just a couple of days in Madrid several years ago with 2 side trips--Segovia & Salamanca. Was there in March so quite cold & crisp. Ended up buying gloves in one of the open markets. Enjoy!
