Whoopee, First Class on the way home!

Well, all good times must end, and same goes for this trip... We had a great lunch at Lahania Grill/Fish House on our way to the airport.  There is something about eating on a deck right over the water.  Pretty cool!
This journey has been fun, full of 'Halleyism's (those of you who know what I am talking about know what I mean!)  For example, she insisted that she had never been to the mainland.  huh???? Told her that where she came from.... Negative (in her mind)... after a bit of discussion... what she really meant was, she had never been to the Big Island!  All in a day's events.  Got lots more of them too.
Nice to have gotten the First Class on the way home.  Saw a cute movie, "Going the Distance" with Drew Barrymore, had a couple MaiTai's, finished a book... and Bam! it was 11:00 pm and we were descending... went so fast, and I never even feel asleep.  Like it when it ends that way!

And so, we leave the isle of Maui.... Next, we will take them to the "Big Island"... Hawaii.... or as Halley called it, 'the mainland!"

From Whales to Birds....

Birds of a feather…. Hanging with Jean!
They were cleaning the tropical birds perches in the hotel, and one little guy got to know Jean really well… and had several cute little saying he could be repeat: Aloha, How are you, Pretty Girl, on with the likes of those!

Halley and Dan finally join us at the beach…!

I was looking for a sweet shot of them going in the water…. What happened next no one could have planned…

A small praise here. We were all in the water about 30 minutes. We keep a close eye on both of them and we all laughed and floated and rode the soft swells. Got back to shore and within less than 5 minutes, Dan had a Grand Mal Seizure right there on the beach. He had just laid on his towel. I stopped and said a prayer of thanks to God! It could have been in the water and Jerry and I would have been struggling to keep him afloat as he really stiffin’s (word?) up. Now you may be asking, why let him in the ocean…. We try to give both of them as many safe experiences as we can…. We do it realizing what can happen and are always ready to jump in and help them. But, PTL! All ended well!

A Shower of Whale Snot!

Yesterday lived up to our expectaions ! We say whales up close and persona…. Well, not too close, against the law. Pretty cool…. But close enough, the spray that comes out when they spout (Blow) drifted over to us!.... Hence the ‘whale snot’. The longer we were out, we found the water got kinda sloppy, as the trades were really kicking up. But, the trip was so worth it. At the end, we saw a Mama whale breech, then her baby breech…. And do we have a pic…………noooooooooooo…. You have to have your camera on 24/7, always looking through it and, well, I don’t do that. But trust us, it was a beautiful sight! Good news to on the skin front…. No sunburns…. That 50x lotion did it’s job. Did get a little ‘wind burn’ feeling on the face, sorty dry feeling, but that was it! My word, a whale just breeched in front of the hotel. Okay…. I’m off!
