Had a great phone call this morning and then one before he went to bed (about lunchtime here). When I went to check my email, he hadn't forwarded his Musings! He's definitely feeling like the trip is soon to end... He's ready... He's excited...and I would think, a bit contemplative that this journey is almost over. He did get some pics which I received and it seems he is having a nice rapport with the local cows the pictures show.
They left later and enjoyed more rest periods this day he said. Not that they were tired, they just had the time. Also, they decided they didn't want to stay in the next 'big' town/village as rooms would be harder to come by. They found a nice place just outside of town. He said they were excited cuz they were going to have Lasagna for dinner. Ahhh, the simpler life!
The three of them really seem to be getting on... think I'll call them 'The Three Amigos!' Jim will be leaving by train on Monday, but I will get to meet Elissa (sp) and her husband as he is arriving there to meet her.
He may send me the musings in the morning. I will update the blog if he does. In the meantime, enjoy the photos. I am envious of all he has seen; it seems Spain is a beautiful country!
Yup, he sent them... here they are... Like I said, you can tell the journey is coming to an end... not quite as chatty!
Jerry:
One more night!
I am starting early this morning as I just woke up and realized I did not send... or even create any writing about yesterday’s travels. I sure apologize for that.
We started just after 8:00 after another ‘usual ‘ breakfast in a restaurant we had never been to in a city we had never been to... except Elisa, who has walked the Camino more than once. A lovely morning... sun filled the skies... and blue...
Jim was not feeling up to snuff so we decided we would stay with him and support him... We likely took longer and maybe more breaks but we made it to our hotel...
We are in a small village... maybe even on the edge... just off the Camino and on the highway. It is 7:20 and I need to get up so the others will also. We enjoyed a very good dinner... salad and lasagna and of course... red wine.
No real wild experiences yesterday... we went through a good sized city... Melide... had a great lunch there... actually had table service... sitting on a lawn at a table in the shade...
In hopes of partially redeeming myself, I am going to send this now... sleep well and enjoy your morning coffee.
Course, I think, all the cows were cool... and the Tres Amigo Shadows were cool...jmf
