I sent yesterday’s musings about 7:30 this morning... (Jean: I posted them at the bottom of my notes on yesterday's post)
We started our walk just after 8:00 and are now at our first stop... for brekky... same as before... coffee with milk, a banana, and a croissant...
On we trekked... partly cloudy and partly sunny... pretty much the way it has been for the past couple weeks... amazing weather for walking! Jim did not say anything today so I think he is feeling better. We have truly enjoyed getting acquainted... seems it happened for a reason.. us getting together... not sure what the reason... may never be sure... or may find out at some time in the future.
As with other days, we saw several folks we had seen before... Jim saw Roberto from Brazil... had spoken of him... we finally saw the over promised ‘beer ‘ wall... not even a wall... but a tavern that serves beer and has maybe 1000 empty bottles ... I will admit it is a cool place. Folks write on the bottom of the bottle and then find a place to put it up on a nail... pix included.
We lunched just prior to the beer wall tavern and then stopped there for a beer... and then we got rolling again. Clouds thickened and threatened a bit, but it did not rain... we ended the day in O Pedrouzo about 3:00... checking in to our pension... and then the routine of a shower and then laundry... then some wine and snacks (along with some lemonade)... FaceTime with my Fircrest family... then out for dinner.
We had seen several folks from prior times as we were walking to our hotel... said we would meet them about 7:00 for dinner... I was about 7:30 because of the call (which was awesome!)... so we walked just a bit to a pizza place and enjoyed a great dinner. The sidewalks were full of pilgrims thinking of completing their Camino experiences tomorrow... very festive atmosphere... the sun helped... was totally sunny prior to sunset.
We stopped on the way back to our hotel to have a nightcap... and then bed. A most enjoyable last night on the Camino. So for one more time... good night and God bless you... from the Camino in Spain!!!
Jean here... well, this is the last post for a couple days! I get on the Silver Bird and will meet Jerry on Monday... He's due to arrive TOMORROW in Santiago de Compestela! He thinks around 1ish his time... which will be around 4ish AM in our time.
He may post... then again, may not! If not, I'll fill ya in when I get there... I'm sure he will have lots emotions he will be dealing with. Having him complete the Camino tomorrow I think is just perfect! After all, this is HIS journey!
Almost done!
The Tres Amigos... couldn't think of any nicer people to end this journey with!
Sign on the door
