17 KM Today, Which Was Perfect On This Hot Day!

June 1 today... leaving Ledigos.

Time to rise and shine boys! We talked briefly about getting an early start to assuage the heat that is bound to happen later, but it is 7:38 and the guys are still sleeping. I will make some noise and we will get rolling...
We walked to the first village and had cafe con leche and a banana and a sweet bar... then onward... now 2 more villages further and enjoying a beer and lemonade and shade. Onward again.
We are now in Sahagun... we have a hotel room for 3 with a private bathroom. We arrived about 1:30 as we only walked 17km.  Checked in and dropped off our back packs, changed shoes and went to find a Farmacia and a market, but siesta was upon us... so lunch and cold drinks came next. A very warm afternoon here! 93 degrees... Siesta was over and I found out, the Farmacia was not going to reopen till Monday.  I’m looking for more cream for my hands.  Next big city is Leon, in two days… I will check that out there… plus make a much needed trip to a bank for more cash!
After lunch and a few cold drinks, we managed to get laundry done. Now chilling in a warm room ... relaxing until later when we will go to a local bar to watch a soccer game in Madrid... big game for the folks from Great Britain... Liverpool against Tottenham...
The walk today was very warm, but fairly short and I had no foot pain. They are not healed yet but on the mend.  Also, LAUNDRY DAY!!! We pooled all our stuff and got it all taken care of!
We enjoyed dinner together at the place we planned to watch the soccer game... I had spaghetti with pesto... was properly done and tasted great. We ate outside under a cover then went inside for the game. It was enjoyable, but folks seem to get wound up over a soccer game... my opinion.
The game got over about 10:30 and we headed back to the hotel, but Aiden had to stop for 1 more drink, so, I am preparing to send this and it is midnight. Good thing, we are planning for about the same mileage tomorrow… Heat will still be here.

Thank You Lord for another great day on the Camino!  Buon Camino!

Up and at 'em boys!

Cottonwood 'snow' just like at home!

Still quite warm as we head home for the night!
