Day 3 - A Long One... Urdaniz

So, today was the longest day, we hiked about 17 miles with still a serious amount of elevation gain and loss. Finally started to have some fun late in the day.   We ended up stopping to re-energize with a beer and a coke...and a much needed rest.  Then, time to finish the hike and on to our Albergue.  We arrived about 5 o'clock.
It is a very nice place with only ten beds in the basement of the owner's family home (a big home to say the least!).  They have a small pool, but have only opened a part of it that has 'jets'.  Sitting on the edge of the pool, the jets could massage your calf muscles.  Thinking about taking advantage of that later on...no sure.  Even better, they were very nice and wonderful cooks!  My first green salad of the Camino!
Our little group continues along and another young man joined us for a time.  We walk pretty much at our own pace... The young ones up further, I'm sorta in the middle, and then the slower ones.  The countryside continues to show us her colors, plus we travel through small towns that are quaint and picturesque!
All in all, a great day: to God be the Glory!
That's all for tonight!

Jean here....Some of the folks with Jerry have been automatically sharing their pics through their iphones.  We get to see Jerry in some of them... Yahoo!

Salad!  Notice the pool in the background!
