Over the Pyrenees to Roncesvalles!

We walked about 5 miles & climbed 3000 feet yesterday.  Today we hiked just over 10 miles and climbed another 3000 feet.  We then began a descent of about 1500 feet by the end of the day; it was somewhat challenging. We arrived at Roncesvalles which is a small village along the trail.  Ended up getting a bit of a sunburn on my hand which was from holding my walking stick: I had put sunscreen on and then washed my hands.  Lesson learned!
We checked into the Albergue, which is huge.  It can hold up to 180 folks. Decided to go for a beer and snack. Later, had dinner around 7pm and even took in the church service at 8pm where there was a blessing for the pilgrims walking the Camino.
Tomorrow, is scheduled to be about 15 miles so we have some going to do...not much elevation change, so that is good!
Love to all! The first few pictures are from yesterday that I couldn't send.

Our dinner that first night, I've always said, the company makes a dinner great... and that holds true still!

Yup... sunscreen time!

These are the folks that I've been walking with...Yup, that's me on the left!  Leaving for Roncesvalles with this group.  We all met for the first time on this journey.  Heading out in the morning!
