Argostoli…I wonder how these little towns absorb the tourist who come!

I know… with small shops and restaurants everywhere. Today three ships came in (including ours) so Jer and I opted to go searching for two geocaches that would take us off the beaten track.  And trust me, they did… walked about a half mile, to the edge of town for the first one… a shrine personally built for a fisherman… with a huge backhoe parked in front of it  due to construction on the port path… then another mile out (and up a long hill, in the warm sun; yes, I was glistening for a bit) for the Italian War Memorial Shrine.  A very, very hard story to read.  War here in this part of the world is nothing new.  We in the US have no clue… just my opinion…but they have had fighting going on for this reason or that for thousands of years… mostly over power and possession!

Walked back down, found the Town Square and settled for a nice lunch.  Headed back to the ship only to find out we missed some turtles that were hanging out close to the dock there… phooey!

Good Morning!

This is what is in the shrine...
