Navplion – A quiet, clean little town

Didn’t spend a lot of time on shore this day as we had been so busy the day before.  Had to tender in as there is no dock big enough for our ship, also, we noted the depth in the bay was only 22 feet!  The ship’s tenders are quite efficient and easy to use so it’s not bad at all.
We had intentions of finding a geocache there, went exploring and climbed steps, went down steps, and never got any closer than 50 feet!  We could see the dilapidated building where the cache was, but just couldn’t find a way up there… it was perched above the main town area.
We did find the village had lots of shops, folks working sweeping the outsides of their storefronts, and plenty of smiles to go around.  There’s lots of history here (duh!), of course, a castle and a fortress, and it seems, lots of Athenians spend weekend getaways here.  We like that it was not crowded and seemed low key.

Watching as they load the tenders back on the boat!
