And, We're Back in Pendleton - Smokey Here Also, But Not as Bad...

So, not much to say... just pics on the way, not many views due to the smoke inversion.  Saw some different sights in Pendleton, yes, we are back!  A couple things we wanted to do, like the Underground Tour, but with this being the first summer after the COVID lockdown, many people are traveling and enjoying what the area has to share.  Hotels also are not as easy to find with rooms avail.  If one didn't call ahead (like a couple weeks ahead) you were out of luck, so, we missed out on a fun tour!

We have decided to head up to Spokane for a couple days (found a room and could use our Bonvoy Points!) which is why we're back in Pendleton.  Walked downtown again, went to the Pendleton Air Museum (very small and covered mostly WWII) and looked at all the bronze statues honoring different citizens through the years.  That's about it for the day...

Looking ahead, I thought that that was blue sky we were coming to... Nope, it wasn't!

Characters of Pendleton!

George Fletcher... a Black Cowboy... which was unusual at that time

Kathleen McClintock,
Stella Darby... She revitalized the underground part of the city... the brothels' and the 'cozy rooms'

Horses fought in the war... their eye and breathing protection
