Two weeks till Jean arrives!
We were up and out by 7:00 this morning. We are at 20km now and planning for 25.
It is 12:20... we could be done by 2:30 pretty easily... we will see.
Weather was ideal this morning... overcast and about 60 degrees... slowly warmed and cleared up... we stopped first at a small park and rested a bit and had some calories... then on to the first village... about 13km... cafe con leche and a chocolate bar and a banana... good food and rest... then onward to 20km... a lemonade and rest... and a stop by the farmacia... got some more Compeed and some sort of general wound cover that has adhesive on one side... and the lady looked at my hands... I showed her the hydrocortisone I have been applying... she said it is good for allergic reactions... she suggested that after two weeks I should be better so maybe a visit to a doctor... I am no worse so am inclined to wait till Santiago for that.
I also found a bank and was able to restock my funds... Then off to the next village... about 5km... possibly the place for the night... but it was a very sleepy place and we saw no place to stay. The next village was only about a mile further so we soldiered on.
I think we were close to our village when we saw some birds in a field... a ways away, but maybe storks... and then a dust devil blows up so I think I got both in the pix I snapped. I just looked and it is quite distant so I am not sure if anything will show.
We are in Puente Villarente for the night... staying at El Delfin Verde... an Albergue, but in a private room... with a bathroom... once we got settled, someone came up and told us there is no hot water in our room but we are welcome to shower at the albergue and they have plenty of hot water. Jim is having his Skype call with a potential employer so I am sitting in a community room gonna call Jean... nobody else is in here for the time being.
Next came laundry... wash and dry for 5 euros... 2 hours... and it got done! A legitimate reason to have another beer . There is a bridge outside of our building... under construction... There may be a pix from the room and one just before we arrived... the bridge is 800 years old according to the local gent who works here... pretty awesome!
Mostly all blue skies and maybe 80 degrees, so another gorgeous day!
Jim had a great call with the potential employer… Skype is the greatest! He teased he’ll have to brush up on his French as the interview went well. I had a great call too, but with my Sweetie!
We are downstairs in the bar having a beer and a pizza.
Good night from the Camino in Spain.
Only 2 weeks, better get a move on!! heehee, just kidding of course! You're doing great & sounds like having a successful spiritual time as well. Walk on....
