Queenstown via the Amistad Winery!

I’m feeling like a broken record but New Zealand is gobsmack gorgeous and so reminds me of the Pacific Northwest but on the best steroids ever!  Today we left TeAnu for Queenstown. On our way, we saw much of the countryside and the vistas that are so pretty.  I can see why Peter Jackson (director of the Rings movies for example) is so proud of his country.  As we look around, I can see how the movies took advantage of the vistas here.  Did I tell you on the weekend coming up, we’re going to Hobbit-town?  Looking forward to that… it’s the actual homes in the village… woohoo… but back to now!

We saw Sheep Ranches, Cattle Ranches and DEER Ranches.  Yes, they raise them here and sell the meat.  They do not have deer running wild all over.

The Winery was a surprise… beautiful and specializes in Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc,  We got there and were directed to tables where, they delivered course after course.  We were filled when they delivered the main course… LAMB… lots of it, falling off the bone and veggies.  Too bad I don’t care for lamb, but everyone else was oooohhing and aaahhhing over it.

We got to Queenstown early which left some time for walking and exploring.  Topped our day off in an Irish Pub with Debbie and Ed (hailing from Jacksonville, FL) for some cold beer and BEEF!  Jerry, by the way, enjoys Lamb… think I didn’t make that clear above!

I know, this looks like a postcard but it isn't!  Also, it's the beginning of Fall here and leaves are turning!

This is how we often travel... He can sleep anywhere!

Yes, those would be deer grazing in the field.  They do cut their racks off as they are forming, sell to China for medicinal/herb use, and since they have no predators it's not a problem,  But, they look funny...

Time to wake Jerry for a photo op!

Baa, Ramm, Boo.... or something like that from the "Babe" movie about the Pig...

We've been meeting the best folks!
