Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park – SPECTACULAR!

Our journey today took us to Milford Sound… right in the middle of their Fiordland (yes, that’s how they spell it) National Park!  These fiords were formed by glaciers, the telltale sign being the U-shape the mountains and valleys have.  It also receives 15-10 feet of rain per year, is a rainforest, but not a hot one.  In fact, we were quite chilly! 

It took us about 2 hours to get there, not including photo breaks!  We hopped on ‘Sinbad’ our boat for touring the actual Milford Sound.  I don’t think I need to say a whole lot, cuz the pictures say most of it!







So this unique bird is a Kea... in the family of what we call Parrots.  It thrives in the cold weather there... scavenges to make it's next.  He's trying to pull an antennae off the coach to put in his nest... Next pic shows they are colorful!
