What a fun day! Getting to wake up in Sonoma really does feel like we've gotten away from all our stuff at home... well, it does to me... Jerry might disagree as he is still helping his clients. But, back to my comment about a fun day...
We started out with a Food Tour... three hours noshing in the Town Square area, sampling some chef's specialties, sipping some oils, learning some history, meeting two other couples from the other Washington... DC I'm referring to... and topping it all off with a visit to a chocolate store. Yup... a good adventure! Julie started the whole idea of participating in Food Tours a couple years ago... best idea ever. If you haven't taken one, check it out... I think you will enjoy it. Oh, I just remembered, this is where William's Sonoma, the great cooking store, started. We were able to visit the original store... a long narrow store...but now, attached to a much larger store. Julie has worked for Williams Sonoma, so it was fun being able to check this one out...
Came home and rested up a bit... tonight we were going to see a show under the stars in Jack London Park. We bought VIP tickets way back in May when we were preparing for this trip. Man... they were worth it... Got preferred parking, nice VIP seating before the show for some bubbly and snacks and then great seats to see the show. AND what a fun show... so many talented actors on stage... singing, dancing and entertaining us! Oh, wish I could have that sort of talent!
Smoked Duck Sandwiches... in the park no less!
This is how big the original and first store was!
This guy was a character! We enjoyed him quite a bit and learned a whole bunch about wine... and wine snobs and what really makes good wine... Fun!
Waiting for the show to begin.... When you're the one with the camera... you're not in as many pics!!!
Fun, fun for sure & yum, yum.....
