Got out earlier today... and hit the highway! The countryside of Oregon continued to be beautiful, then we got to California... still pretty... but Mt Shasta was low on snow and the Lake Shasta was even lower than it had been... kinda scary what the weather/we are doing to this home we call earth!
Anyway... the attractive pic of Jerry with his compression socks... since his blood clot in January, although it is all cleared up, he's not taking any chances for a future reappearance.. He's so styling!
As we traveled on, Shasta and then the Lake came into view. yup, a shortage of water!
This was the median fire... course, till we got up close, we didn't know what it was... It was a relief that it was a car... by the time we got up to it, we literally could not see more than a couple feet in front of the car... plus, the temp out was 100, and the poor fireman... dressed in their gear... gotta really hand it to those guys...
And finally we arrive at our cottage... so darn cute! The area here in Glen Ellen is beautiful... we are nestled among the oak trees and look out into the hillside. We traveled along newly planted grapes... all getting ready for future bottles of wine! In no time, Julie and Jens showed up... and we all settled in. Went to dinner in town at a fun place ... Glen Ellen Oyster and Martini Bar... No oysters for us, but the Martini Bar was excellent! Let our excellent adventure begin! Tomorrow we look forward to a food tour in Sonoma and then 'Babes in Broadway" performance in the park in the evening!
Indeed what a cute place & yes, love the stockings! Wine & dine..... :D
