Gee, I just realized I didn’t even check in yesterday…. Beautiful day on the city of canals! We grabbed the local water bus, and went around the Grand Canal… Also, visited several little spots just walking around the different neighborhoods, up and down the little bridges through the canals!. It was a good, slow day capped off with a great reception and goodbye dinner with the many new friends we have made. I was telling them, I felt like summer camp was over and we were all saying goodbye! Yet, we excited to go off on our own to Lake Como!
Train ride to Milan was quick (2.5 hours), and then we transferred to another train to Como. A car met us in Como and we were off to Tremezzo and our hotel. Very, Very pretty here… BUT, right now there is a lot of haze from the high humidity they have had… I don’t get it, it’s not warm, comfortable 65ish… but it is hazy. We can make the huge mountains out as Lake Como is tucked inbetween mountain ridges. Hoping it clears a bit, so the majectic ridges stand out more….On the positive side, the weather is great, our hotel is awesome and I write this, with the lake right across the street! A rather nice live… Thank you Lord!
One more cool statue in Venice... I won't bore you with more Canal pics... trust me, there are many, many, many more pics....
They really use the marble in 3 dimensional ways...
Christina toasting us all on a wonderful trip together!
Our memorable visit to Milan...... one big train station, built by Mussolini...
The view out our window....
A most unique floating pool in the lake... It really is floating...and it is not fed by the Lake... a bit chilly to swim in now...
Our hotel... We are on the top floor, 5th window from the left...
Walking around town... here everything is up staircases....
This is NOT using the zoom on my camera.... it's really much, much closer looking across the lake.... hopefully, better pics tomorrow! Notice how high the mountains are... these are the Italian Alps...
