Today was another productive mileage day. Heniz wanted to start later and end earlier than I, so we said goodbye after breakfast. I met a gent, didn't get his name, who is on day 39 - He started in France, is German, about 30ish and hopes to arrives in Santiago in 30 days. Then met Jacob, from Vancouver BC, interesting back story on his reasons being on the Walk. I was by myself a bit more. I did note there were not as many pilgrims on the trail today. Gave me lots of time to think and I ended up creating 'notes' on my phone I wanted to share.
So the Camino was here many many years before the highway. Often times we end up walking underneath the highway. You can see that in one of the pictures. And then, yes, we walk over the highway and other times beside the highway. You'll see a mountain in another pic... I looked at that and thought 'Do I have to climb that?" I continued on and was happy to see there was a highway that went around the mountain.
Earlier today, I was talking to the birds...or they were talking to me! I whistled a little bit and they whistled back. I heard them wishing me on and I heard God encouraging me to go forward!
I traveled through the town of Estella where there was a bodega/winery on the hillside as you left town. They offer free wine out of spigots, one for wine and one for water... all outdoors. But there's a finite amount every day and it was gone when I got there. They do have a webcam... I posed for it, but, unfortunately, it's a live cam so Jean didn't get to see me. I continued on and met Dante, a young man from South Korea. We chatted about 30 minutes, he's here to find himself; I told him I'm here to draw near to my God... it was a good conversation.
My Albergue tonight is indeed smaller. Dinner was with several of us and we had the best conversation. A woman I met a few days ago on my walk ended up here; she speaks five languages, so she helped with the interpretations. A big discussion on the Catholic Church and the Bible... way too much to talk about here. Eventually the owner joined in and shared that owning and running this Albergue was something she felt she was called to do... she is just making ends meet, but she still feels she should be doing this.
Well, time to hit the sack! I just feel blessed and certainly not deserving of this journey I am on!
Bicyclists!

The webcam with some lucky person getting their wine!
So while in town, I hid some peanuts and a candy bar for the group I had been travelling with earlier. I sent them hints on where it was... hope they find it! The group has changed up a bit and one of them has gotten sick and is choosing to rest up at bit.
Fun graffiti on the wall of the Albergue, Le Perla Negra. Got my sleeping bag already for me!
I had a friend who would always tell his wife when he was heading out for a walk by himself-"I'm going for a walk with Andy". Yes, "And He walks with me And He talks with me..." I too take walks with Andy all the time :) Walk & talk on....
