We got up early for our 8am fast ferry to Capri. One of those hurry up and wait till boarding
finally started. Water was a bit sloppy,
a sign that the Blue Grotto might not even be available to see. Good thing, there is more to the island than
the Grotto… We saw the town of Capri, the town of Anna Capri which is further
up the rock hillside, drove the crazy one lane roads… sometimes they were
really wide: one and a half lanes! The vehicles they use are called buses, but
they are thinner, and much shorter than real buses. Nothing like them
stateside that I’ve seen!
The water around the island is beautiful and turquoise blue
in places. The island has shear rock
cliffs that lead right down to the sea, you see caves, some trees, stalagmites…
yes, that’s what I said! Some of the
outcrop rocks have mini statues on them sailors have erected. There’s one rock with life brass statue
bidding either arrividerci or welcome, depends on if you’re coming or going!
Rode the funicular down from Capri Town to the port to hope
on a boat and circle the island. Beautiful
for sure, but seas were still a bit rolly!
Blue Grotto could not even be entered due to the water conditions so the
tour around seemed like a good alternative!
We even went through the rocks that reminded me of the Cabo Rocks, and
kissed which is supposed to mean you’ll stay together forever!
By the time our adventure was over, it was 3 o’clock and
time to return to Naples. You see we had
a date with the gang at 5 pm for cocktails!
