Foodies in Rome Food Tour with Dominque

Before we left home, Julie had been in touch with a friend who knew of a great Food Tour leader in Rome!  And boy, was she a find!  Dominique, of Foodies in Rome.  It's her own company and she certainly knows her business!  We had a great time walking through different neighborhoods and sampling so much food, cappuccino, beer, and wine.  Really taught us alot too!  We kept saying to each other how great the tour was... 4 hours worth and a good amount of walking helped with processing everything we were eating!

When we three couples travel, we do some things together, and other times we venture out on our own.  We have found that makes for a great combination!  When the tour was over, Julie and Jens left for St Peter's, Gary and Liz hadn't seen Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, so they opted for that.  Jerry and I tagged along with them, cuz,  those were sorta on the way home to the hotel.

You will see one picture where we are inside the Pantheon again. Yesterday, after Jerry and I visited there,  Liz and Gary were asking us about the light from above in the center of the dome.  We both said, there wasn't any light coming in... So, we went back in today to confirm Jerry and I had remembered correctly, this time with L & G, and guess what: there is a big old hole that we just didn't notice.  I'm thinking cuz the weather was cloudy the day before we didn't notice.

Also, we saw what are the Jewish Stumbling Stones.  Very emotional. Each plastone is detailed with the victim's name, their date of birth, date and place of deportation and the date of death in the Nazi extermination camp.  Very emotional.

Got back home and relaxed.  Tonight, I thought I'd do this... tomorrow we go to our boat, the Oosterdam!  Woohoo, time that I can unpack and really unpack for 11 days!  It's the simple things in life that make one happy!

Our Starting point for the tour in the Trastevere neighborhood.
