So we were up early
for the hour and fifteen minute ride to our launch point for the Hot Air
Balloon. Gosh it was so hard to get
up. Did manage to snooze on the way
there (there were 14 of us) so that helped.
Once we were at a small park, we waited to find where we would launch
from. Meanwhile, there was NO wind were
we were, but as we looked at the sky, the clouds across the way were travelling
at a break neck speed it seemed. After
about 45 minutes, two vans pulling two balloon baskets and compressed balloons,
pull up… and that told us, there would be NO ride today. It was so windy where the balloons take off
from that they couldn’t even blow up the balloons, plus who knows where we
would land! Oh Phooey… up so darn early and no
ride. I will say, after yesterday’s bouncing
like a cork in the sea, safety is a real priority for me! So be it… no Hot Air Balloon for the Fosses today!
We headed back for
home, and low and behold, on the golf course, a whole lot of Kangaroo! Photo op for the 13 of us to experience. It was so fun to seen them in their natural habitat
and not confined. Saw mom’s with kids in
their pouches, roos punching each other, and some just hanging around for the
meal and then jumping away!
On the road at 4 AM... ugh!
And when the basket comes to where you are parked... not a good sign... it should have a balloon inflated above it
These balloon baskets hold about 16 folks
Jerry didn't think he'd be on an Australian Golf Course... looking at roos!
Now this is a true Termite Castle... they have them all over here... and the upper part we are told is only 1/3 of the whole size... 2/3'rd is down below the ground... Makes me shiver just thinking about it!
Great plan B!
