A new explore: Ashville NC and the Cove Retreat Center

We were taking  an early morning flight to the east coast so we opted to stay at SeaTac at the Doubletree the night before plus we could leave our car there while we are gone!  Night before we took Jillian and Steve out to dinner at Harbor Lights... Of course, we sat in Kay's section... she gave us some free onion rings...WOOHOO!  Dinner was delish and we enjoyed being with 'the kids'!

Said goodbye and went our separate ways... We got to the hotel, settled in got to bed about 11 before our 4am wake up call!  Well, somewhere around 2 in the morning, I woke with a start and realized we'd forgotten to give Jilli some keys she had to have to help us with a project!... Obviously, I stewed about that till 4 AM... didn't want to call her... but we had to and came up with a plan... Off we went to the airport and started the journey!

Love staying at VRBO's and this one is no exception!  In the center of the city and tucked away!  We can walk to everywhere!

Well, found a great dinner spot and I was in bed by 8PM Ashville time... that's 4PM Tacoma time... and I slept till 7 the next morning... Jerry was surprised I conked out so early, so he checked out the area without me...
This morning, after a cup of coffee (or two), we ventured out and went to a church service... They have several old, mondo cathedrals in the area... all located on Church Street (how appropriate).  The one we attended was not empty and had younger folks as well as the grey-hairs!  Took a walk around and found this unique minstrel group playing ....  I think we're gonna like it here!  Found our first geocache of the trip too!
 The geocacahe

Interesting, use to be a church here they tore down... can't figure out how it's impression is on the building next door... weird...

  1. Great town in beautiful setting! Spent just a day there with my sister & brother-in-law on my move to Faial trip. Great shops & food! Enjoy!
