Silver Falls at Mount Rainier and LeMay DriveIn Movie....J, J, J and O !

A great day in our great Pacific Northwest!  Took off early in the morning... Jillian packed a lunch for us to enjoy after the hike. This was a gentle hike as Jillian is still recovering from her shattered kneecap... It meandered a bit, uphill, then downhill, but we were rewarded with a beautiful, up close ad personal view of the falls.  Standing on the bridge over the creek where the falls ended... Mother Natures Air Conditioning... Felt so good...  We passed some hot springs... warning that we were not go near them, but found a puddle on it's way to the river... and yup, the water was warm...
The rocks had moss growing... the trees the same... like a green blanket covering them all.  Wish that one could make a bed of it... then again, I think of the bugs... and NO WAY!
We came back to T-Town around 4ish... changed, cleaned up... well, not in that order... and Oliver convinced us he wanted to participate in the rest of the day. We drove to The LeMay Museum... parked in the field where the movie was to be shown (it's about 5:30 at this point... Movie started at 9).  We took a walk up to McKinley... about a mile away... and planned on a meal at the "Top of Tacoma"... with Oliver in tow!  It worked out perfect, cuz we could use their outdoor seating for our meal... and he could sit there under the table.  Brought his little portable water dish.. he was a happy camper! The "Top" is a funky bar with yummy food... quite eclectic!
Anyway, headed back down to the car and settled in for our flick "American Graffiti"... You know what... after 60 minutes into it... we were all exhausted and started falling asleep.  We ended up sneaking out early... Still... We had a great time... a nice new memory!

Montmartre, the Subway and one last Parisian Cafe Lunch!

Hopped on the subway... and made our way to Montmatre, a beautiful Basilica at the top of a hill.  The views of Paris are spectacular from there... And the surrounding streets are eclectic and humming with tourists!

So... gonna just post pics... tomorrow we come home... got packing to do...  Oh... The interesting sculpture is based on the book "The Man Who Could Walk Through Walls" written in the 40's... The artwork is pretty cool... might have to read the book!  Again, we find this little spot geocaching...
The view from the top!
As usual, Jerry and Jean with all their closet friends in Paris checking out the church...
 This statue guy was great...

 On our way around Montmatre

 Sweet Cafe

The Subway... much brighter than NYC's

Cruising the Seine and a Quick Stop at Conflans Ste Honorine

We thought we were going to be 'at sea' all day... but then remembered we had a 4 hour stop at a little town called Conflans Ste Honorine...  We ended up getting up a bit later, grabbed a bite to eat around 9:00am... and then spent the morning topside... had to find shade... it was a bit toasty... BUT, the views were stupendous!  So like the famous paintings from the famous artists France is notorious for!
The Weeping Willow Trees and the White Swans... prolific in the area... and so beautiful.  Since there wasn't much of a breeze, the river was beautiful... reflecting the homes, the trees and clouds.  Managed to get some reading done in between taking pictures... I am sad to say, I have way too many pictures from this whole trip... I mean WAY TOO MANY!  Digital camera's make that so easy.... click, click, click... and next thing you know you've taken 250 pictures within three hours.  I only post a few... and the rest... will that's where my scrapping comes in!
Anyway, back to the trip... once we docked around 1PM... Jerry and I took a walk in this quaint and off the beaten track city.  It was not a 'Port City' where the shops cater to the passengers.  This little place was the real deal!  And, yes, they had geocaches... I posted a couple pics showing where the journey took us...
Turned on the computer, and for some reason, Facebook will not load the page... dang... but, I'm hoping I found a way around using my phone to post the blog.  We shall see how that works out.

Had a great dinner tonight with new friends, Elizabeth and Carol, her mom.  Elizabeth is the active military... currently an officer in the National Guard.  She is a hoot, as is her mom and we enjoy them both.  Drink way too much wine and have way too many sweets... but, hey... you're not in France that often.
Tomorrow we hope to venture through Paris on the Subway.  Everyone says, it is easy to follow... routes are well marked... I sure hope so!  Otherwise, I get a bit cranky!  Gonna go to the Sacred Heat Basillica of Montmartre, where the say the views are more spectacular than those from the Eiffel Tower!  Weather isn't spose to be so great, but, no matter, it will be a fun time and I will take pics... no matter sun, rain, or clouds!

We're thinking about about putting an offer on this summer place... would be nice I think...
Or wait, maybe one of these....?
Or, one of these colorful beehives... Yup, this person gather's bee honey... and has decorated their little hives... let's all hear an "ahhhhhh"
Love the Weeping Willows... perfect spot!

Entering one of the many locks we traversed!

Darn Willows calling me to take a picture!
Lots of live-aboards in Conflans... using old barges...
And this is us, taking a path less traveled to find a geocache!

Aha... it's somewhere around here!

This town had more spiders than I care to even remember... awful, awful, awful... I felt my sking crawl just being around them!
