You know, we may be in the minority, but we both are enjoying the cloudy and sometimes damp weather! Good thing, or we might be disappointed in this getaway.
We spent Monday doing what Patti really loves: Geocaching! The Riverfront Park there in Hood River had some all along the walkway. There was no drizzle so our walk was quite pleasant! Tried to make one of those cute pictures where it looks like you're holding something in your hand, but your not... Our attempt sorta failed, but I'm posting it anyway!
Ending up walking about 3 miles... (my gadget savvy sister wore a pedometer, hence we know!) Had a great, but pricey, lunch at Brian's Pourhouse... decided it should be call POORhouse... cuz, our wallets were lighter when we left!
By now, after our late meal, some wine and the clock approaching 3pm ... we were ready to head home. (Cont'd way down further)
Patti... this is the only time you will be taller than I... Giggle all you want... I was stooping just so you'd feel better about being the shortest in the family....Love you ....
Loved this home in the Hood... quite colorful to say the least!

This poor dog... his owner threw the Frisbee way out in the River... The dog stood on the shore for awhile... He's thinking... no way, you threw it, you get it... It's darn cold... Eventually they got him to go out there (The Frisbee was about 50 feet out in the River)... Poor thing!
Tuesday we decided to head out for Timberline Lodge. Yesterday, there were requiring Chains in the cars... so, we were happy that today the snow levels was up a bit, so we would have the snow-packed highway! The journey started out and we could enjoy the foothills... the fog... the Larches golden color... pretty! As we climbed, we were surrounded by snow... but none on the road!
Got up to the Lodge... and Patti was impressed. Now, I was just there a month ago with the Divas, so I didn't take any outdoor pictures this time around.... Not sure what I was thinking, as now, there was much more snow! Anyway, once indoors, the fires were blazing in the huge fireplaces and the place was just warm and toasty and beautiful. Watched a looping video on the building of the Lodge.. all the artisans involved (most of which were just carpenters... but they learned quickly how to carve, etc.)
Patti takes a pic of herself with her "Crew of 72" towel... an homage to her graduating class. Plus... it was determined there was a..... GEOCACHE in the area.... Located where it should be... Patti trekked out in the snow, up to the probable tree stump... and was deterred by the amount of snow there... With no gloves, no boots and the drizzle drizzling away, it was just not worth it! We had too laugh when we looked at ourselves in the car mirror.. fogged up glasses, wet hair... a couple of cuties!
Suddenly, in the car, the dang tire light goes on. We look at the tires, they look good, so off we went... and it was all good till we (okay... when PATTI) filled the tires us once back to Hood River.

What a fun, fun time! I admit to loving the foggy days as well. Snow though should be seen from afar for me now----heehee. Nice fire though!
