Not to make anyone jealous… but, I am sitting on the verandah, in my jammies, I hear the water lapping along side the ship, the sun has just set and the clouds in the distance look darker as the sky below them is that beautiful orange… The Lord has blessed this night!
Last night we had a marvelous concert… Cajun music and so much more… then Smitty surprised the audience and ended up jamming with the group… Later Audrey Assad performed, and knocked our socks off, but, with a different style of music. The evening had us laughing… big belly laughs… as the comedian John Branyan had us going… We were ready for bed… good thing, cuz the next morning (that would have been today) we had to be up early…. Going to Prince Edward Island (PEI)!
They grow lots of potatoes here, recently started soybeans, and canola. The yellow in the pictures are the canola plants in bloom… should last another week. It just is a beautiful area… and, much like the other cities we’ve visited, has winters with lots of snow… you would never know it by what it was like today.
Remember the books “Anne of Green Gables”, etc, etc… well, they were written by a young woman, Lucy Maude Montgomery who grew up here. The whole island is just gorgeous… and I can see how the character of Anne came about. We visited where the author spent much of her life and, also the home where her Aunt and Uncle lived, which is what she based much of her fictitious book on. We went to the forest, she referred to as the haunted forest… then there was the ‘lovers lane’… you could just see how she could come up with all the characters in her books
Ended up on back home by 1pm… which gave us time for lunch, some pool side snoozing, then dinner… and the best: a 90 minute concert with Michael. His talent as a writer and a musician and a singer… awesome! He has come out, in the last two years, with two instrumental albums that are beautiful. ‘Freedom’ and ‘Glory’… highly recommend them.
Not going into any details, but things get so unique with Halley… Thinking, maybe this kinda of travelling we won’t be able to do anymore. We shall see. Keep us and her (well, I guess Dan too, but he is not so much going to be in the picture in the future) in your prayers… It gets so hard at times and writing this blog, well, it helps me to see the positive things that we were able to experience and not let the other stuff take over!
Tomorrow, Sydney, Nova Scotia… Not sure what that holds… but we know it will be great! This part of Canada is beautiful!
This lighthouse was the first thing we saw as we woke this morning and got ready to dock!
