You know, it's almost time to go home.... when you find the rat traps....

I guess paradise has the same problems we do, as evidenced by the photo....

We have these same little boxes at home that the pest company uses to keep our home free of the little buggers!
Went on an evening walk later... Sunsets are gorgeous.... Jerry and Jillian were saying they say a bunch of frogs, the night before.  I'm with them, and nothing.... and then... Zap.... the first one.... This is only about 40 feet from the ocean.... not sure if they go in it or not....

Yesterday we drove to Lahania.... We always love that place.... so busy.... had the best Gelato... course, it should be good for the prices they charge....lol   Ate at Bubba Gumps.... always a favorite.... right on the water.... you feel like it really is the kind of place Lt Dan would have opened!

Today we started out at the beach as usual, then the pool, then the sun, then the water... you know, it's like a broken record.... but I'm glad we're getting to be the ones playing it.... Had to prove I was laying out too, those are my toes!

Jerry, don't take that picture while I'm trying to bathe...

Jerry... How could you....?

And, anyone want to pronounce this restaurant's name?  I never get it right!  It's Humuhumunukunukuapua'a..... Go for it you guys!

Griffin, I found out the name of the plant in the post way down ....

I didn't hear back from you, so I checked with the folks here.  It is the NONI plant....
They said that the noni was probably the native Hawaiian's most important medicinal fruiting plant, although most of the medicinal applications are from other parts of the tree--not the fruit itself. It is a common naturalized tree on all of the major islands, identified by its large, glossy-green leaves, and warty, white fruits that have a very strong and disaggreable odor.
They make Noni Juice.... but it taste really bad from what they told me.  Think I'll pass on that....

Our evening walk tonight.... a beautiful sunset....

First Time for Yoga.... and it was on the beach

facing the ocean..... awesome.  Had to be there by 7am... but here, that is not early when you're in bed by 9:30..... so weird.... Jillian had gone before and asked if we'd love to join her.  Jerry was quite excited.... but we weren't sure why.  When we got down there, he pulled out a pen and said he wanted Yogi's autograph on his shirt.... I know, bad joke. Anyway, I liked doing it but, I have stretched some new muscles... and I think it is a good thing.... All levels were there, so I didn't feel along. I was surprised at how limber I was.  One negative, though, my knees kinda hurt now, especially the right one, not crazy bad, but just when I go up stairs...

After our class, we swam in the ocean.... so nice... then, as in the past, up to pool to dry out.  Today we dined on our breakfast on our lanai....  Oh, the sweet life..... We know we are blessed and thank God for that everyday! The view he has created...

I sound like a broken record.....BUT... it is great... and today... a massage!

It was quite the experience at the Spa Grande.  I spent the hour before the massage in their Terme Baths..... so nice....  and, one is truly relaxed by the time you make it to the massage table.  They had a Roman Bath, a Japanese Bathe (which is 2 degrees warmer than the Roman one).  There were Sauna's and Steam Rooms you could use.... (I always pass on those..... to warm for me...)  Then, they had 6 small baths that each had a special salt and organic additives.   Inbetween each one, you needed to shower... so, you then see in the picture below, the cascading waterfall..... Oh... it was warm and felt so good on my neck muscles....  It was a great ending to the day.....

Sorry, no pics of the actual massage.... that would not be very relaxing for me!

Can we say gorgeous?

Yup, I took this one.... also on the grounds.... see, I told you, I don't know if we will ever leave the grounds till it's time to go home....

Griffin can you help us figure out what this plant is?

Well, we were on our walk and saw this weird pod like plant.... reminded us of a Pine Cone, but we knew it wasn't a pine cone.  It even had a tiny little flower growing in it...  Can you and your mom... or your grandpa.... check it out on the computer.... We'd sure like to know.
Also, check out this statue,,,,, It was in the plants on the grounds here…. It reminded me kinda of the Pua’a you had us look for one other time we were here; BUT, this one had the body of a person.... weird, huh?

They have Koi fish everywhere here. Was interesting looking at this guy…. He was sucking a rock with these funny lips.

Thursday in Paradise..... gee, it doesn't get boring.....

Jilli was up early….. Yoga on the beach…. Jerry and I took a walk down the walkway in front of the hotels. We went a bit more than a mile…. By the time we were back…. It was HOT….. Walks need to happen much earlier ant 10:15 if there are no strong tradewinds, but I know better than to complain.. I was taking lots of pics, mainly with Jerry, when a sweet 'southern belle' ask if she could take OUR picture....Gorgeous views…. I guess it’s called paradise for a reason!
After lunch, I spent some time walking new areas of the grounds. You know, words don’t describe how pretty it all is. They have the coolest pool system (interconnected with rivers and mini slides, fountains, artwork in between, awesome flowers….)
I don’t know if we are ever gonna get out and use our car…. It’s just so nice NOT having to do anything….
The first picture, well, we use the stairs (me, only to go down) sometimes to go down to the beach.... Jilli was headed to the gym, seemed like it would make a good pic...

What a beautiful to start a day!

Wednesday Morning, after a lite breakfast, we went down to the ocean….. So nice and comfy… well, we kinda sucked our bellies in when the waves when rose as we ventured in…. but once we were adjusted to it, it was quite nice., very calm. After floating around, the next stop was the pool…. Where we floated around some more… had a smoothie, floated some more… you get the picture. Then we realized, we were out at the worst time of the day for the sun rays…. So we high tailed it back to the room.  The picture of the hibiscus tiled pool..... yup, that is where we enjoyed our floating around and stuff....  And, yes.... that is all the view of the fountain leading to this "adult" pool and the hotel....
Everynight, in our wing only, they have free drinks… not just plain highballs, but good drinks. And then, they have free horse de overs…. You know, appe’s…. very yummy. We end up having a snack there and end up bypassing dinner.
We took a walk over to the “shops of Wailea” where they had a free concert. A gentleman playing slack key guitar. Interesting story on how this type of music started. Watched the sun set, then off to our room for the evening….. What a glorious day!

How pretty..... the sunset and a Foss nose picker-was, she was just goofing around...

So beautiful...... haven't even started with the pics....

will.... just a little..... You will not believe but I was in bed sleeping by 7:30 Hawaii Time... Jerry and Jilli by 9..... my word....
Weather is gorgeous.... warm, light, light breeze.... today, we hear the beach calling.
I have attached just a few pics of the view from the deck out back and the entry way out front.  Very Very pretty!  And it's on 22 acres or something like that, so there will be plenty to explore.  Anyhoo.... off I go.....

Crusing on Hood Canal in an Electric Boat....

We woke up to sun and calm waters on the Canal.  So pretty.   Spent much of the day staying pretty low key.  Walked in the afternoon to a WaterWheel right down the street.... The Dalby Mill.  Nice and picturesque.
Walked along the shore.... low, low tide.  Patti saw a puggle on the dock and made a beeline for it.  She and the owner chatted quite a while.  Patti's been missing her little Puggle, BUDDY.... she got a good fix playing with "Zoe"
Marycatherine did some checking, and we ended up renting a little electric boat.  It was so quiet as we putzed around.  We were hoping to see a seal (Patti was really on that), but, alas, none were around.  The water was so smooth..... just like a pond..... ahhhhh, God's handiwork cannot be beat!  You can see the Olympics behind Marycatherine....

High Steele Bridge over the Skokomish River

We had a little explore and went to the High Steele Bridge over the south fork of the Skokomish river..... After we started out, we realized that the rain we were having.... well, there were warnings on the river flooding. It was high... but fortunately, stopped rising early in the afternoon.  We had one road that was flooded, but not too bad.  We drove about 6 miles on Forest Service Roads to get to the Bridge.  It was originally a Railroad trussel for the lunber industry in the early part of the century.  Later, in the 40-50's it was changed to a road for the logging trucks with wood planks.  in the 60's the Forest Service took over and asphalt was laid.  Its 420 feet above the river; the view, priceless.
Came home, read some and then just walked the grounds of the resort!

Sisters Retreat.....Alderbrook.....

We arrived this afternoon, were blessed with great massages, yummy dinner and now are just a trio of noodles....  but it's all good.  The Canal has some low hanging clouds, but it's still beautiful!
