Barnacle Park in Coconut Grove - yup, a geocaching surprise!

Checked email early to make sure Jillian and Steve got home... They sure did, and found out their house had been broken into and Steve's car taken along with all sorts of stuff in the house... but not the TV ... but her makeup, nail polish, blankets, all her jewelry, some clothing... weird... anyway... we had problems getting anymore rest and just needed to regroup.  Hard as a parent to see your kid go through crummy stuff.
Anyway, finally got all settled down and decided to go walking and look for geocaches.  Found a couple but best yet, a great park, Barnacle State Park.  So thick and green within the city limits, and then right on the water.  A nice way to get that icky stuff out of our systems!

Miami Board Meeting... and then we stay for some fun!

The Family Foundation gathered in Miami for the Fall 2016 meeting.  Lots of business to take care of, but we also had the chance to do a site visit at "Shake A Leg".  It's a fully-integrated experience for individuals of all ages with physical disabilities.  Wheelchairs, Crutches, walkers, you name it!  You can see the kayaks going out, a sailboat being steered by a young disabled girl and a pontoon for those with not as much ability.  The gentlemen in the wheelchair in the pic with us is the Director!!!  We were gobsmacked!  Conrado was being funny and,  as you can see, he was showing us he could "Shake a Leg".

These folks in their wheelchairs going  out in Kayaks

Notice the 'IM' is crossed out because it is a POSSIBLE DREAM!
The little munchkin in blue, transferred from her wheel chair and is in charge of the tiller on the sail boat!!!!

 There go the Kayaks!

As the board, two days were spent working on reviewing site visit reports, determining grant amounts and working on lots of administrative paper work:  Bylaws, Policy and Procedures and more!

Been spending a few days in Grand Marais, MN and the Boundary Water Canoe Area... beautiful part of the United States.  Also have been taking a photography class with Layne Kennedy and learning so much about capturing pics!  Up early and learning till late and getting pictures that make us look like pros.  That, my friends, is a gifted instructor!
