How about 18 inches of snow appearing since we arrived!

We wanted a  snow fix and boy, we have gotten one and are loving it!  Yesterday we spent walking and enjoying the cleared pathways.  The town was pleasantly void of massive crowds and just a very pleasant few.  Travelling midweek I'm sure helps!

Today, another walk, this one longer than the first... about 4 miles.  Walked along the Wenatchee River, covered with ice in area, on un-groomed paths.  No snow shoes so it was work!  My calves are killing me this evening.  We made our way back up to the town and stopped for lunch.  By the time we finished and headed to the condo, the temp seemed to have dropped and it was quite chilly.  Now, we're snuggled in enjoying the fireplace.

We're needing a SNOW FIX !

So, the last 30 days, in our little part of the world, we have had forecasts and warnings of snow... Oh boy, we were so excited!!! Well, guess what, we never, saw any of their predictions come to fruition.  We decided, if the snow won't come to us, we will go to it!  Our choice of a destination:  Leavenworth!

We left a rainy Tacoma and headed east over the mountains.  We heard there was gonna be some nasty weather in the mountain pass and we were hoping to get over before it all came to be.  Fortunately, we just made it... but not without experiencing freezing rain, snow, sleet, wind and downright nerve racking passage over two passes!  When we got to our condo, we went online  and  found the pass was officially closed!

Got settled in and walked to town for a meal and some wine.  The snow was falling ... we were getting our snow fix!!!
