Wow, it has been a busy weekend.... We picked up Halley and Dan Friday, then headed out to lunch. Dan is sitll having to go to the burn unit daily for his arm (3rd degree burn after having a seizure and falling on a frying pan that he was making scrambled eggs in)... anyway, we came back to the hotel, checked in our room getting ready for the Minnesota Life College auction. Jerry attended the MLC board meeting (oh yeah, he's a member on that board too) while I got to relax a bit. In the meantime, the members of the Foss Foundation Board started to arrive.... Julie, Jim, Dawn, Telma, Mark and Kyle.... Friday night we all went out to Macaroni Grill, pretty yummy. Now, for those of you who don't know my Foss side of the family, this group, especially Julie, Dawn, Mark, Jim and Jerry are quite the pinocole players. So, as the evening wore on, they found a spot and the card playing began. Kyle, Telma and myself, well, we may watch, but don't get involved much. To be honest, I end up going to the room eventually and just enjoy my time. Saturday we went on two site visits.... Those are the pics you see... Two very worthwhile organizations, helping the outcome for children at risk, yet so different. We like them both. Saturday evening, we attending the auction... great results, they made about $200,000... The funds go to scholarships at school and that's a great thing! The only bummer was, the food... Chicken and rice... sure it was fancied up, but it wasn't very yummy. Serving 600 people though, you totally understand and you would rather have the money go to the cause than making a superb meal.... Afterwards, sure enough, the card playing started so I was in room about 11, Jerry made it back around 1:15....
Today, another meeting in the AM and then lunch and now the time is our own. Telma, Kyle and Mark have already left and the rest leave tomorrow... We will be leaving Tuesday....
Well, not much else... just that the weather here is beautiful and comfy and sunny. Spring buds everywhere on the trees, blossoms, fresh baby green leaves.... you know what I mean....
